The only time they keep an original is the first time. After that they never keep the original but return it to you when you return.
My wife and I only had 2 AP originals when we applied last year and made 2 trips outside the US. So relax and dont worry. You're fine.

Dave, I'm sure our macro enthusiasts will respond to your technical questions. I just want to say superb shots and hope to see more of your work! There are a lot of really great macro shots on dphoto (something I have not mastered, but admire tremendously). The detail is incredible in your shots!

over 250 people responded to the earlier poll and we see that atleast among IV'ites the PDs are spread all over the years (10% 20% 20% 30%-2006 10%-2007), and there are significant number of 2003/2004 PDs out there.
This followup poll is to see how many of these people are already in the I-485 system (likely to use up visa number as soon as one is available) vs waiting to file I-485.

it is really nice that you got it now...otherwise u will be put on a minimum 6 months more wait till Oct...u shud highlight ur case to showcase how broken the legal immigration system is..u have been in US for 18 years before u received ur green card...

I think, if you don't have labor doc, you can go to FLCDataCenter.com (http://www.flcdatacenter.com/) and search for MS Access document for the year when you file for the labor. If you have the number from the LC doc, search for that number in the access file and you will find the details of your case.

My situation is as under : " My case is in removal proceedings for violating H1b status for 3 months due to laid off situation, i am working on H1b now and my labor is approved and I-140 is pending, now my priority date is become current for I-485 filing", now who will adjudicate my case, INS or EOIR court, where will i file my I-485.
will court close my removal proceedings based on PD current..
i will really really apprecate your help.
Dont want to futher your suffering but you are hosed. I have a consultant working in our office with a similar situation and he is planning Canada.
I dont think this board has a solution for you. But a real good immigration attorney may do something (and that does not necessarily mean Murthy Or Khanna). Remember you still have a chance until you are in US. Legal or whatever, just run and scan every out you got.
From my common sense understanding the court won't do what you wish.

I went to USA 1 yr back by h4.h1 is approved in nov2007.If i face any queries on h1 in indian emabassy.Can i go by h4 to USA in that h1 query period.i mean without h1 stamping in query period.

I saw the same thing in my online status, in october. What I got is a finger print notice which was originally sent to my old address which was on the I-485 application form. They redirected to it to the current address on file.
This is my guess: Since the online status has only few options, and may be the person who is updating it put it as 'document sent' and the one similar to that is the last one with 'Document production ....".
What I heard is, before they mail your GC, you will get a letter saying your I-485 is accepted. I never got that. I called USCIS and 'human robots' didn't have any idea on this, but they said my I-485 is still in the processing stage.

I will be applying for my 3rd H1-B extension soon. If for some reason the H1-B renewal gets rejected, do rules allow for applying for a H1-B transfer soon after the rejection.

Also what happens if existing visa expired 4 months back, and current H1 B-renewal is pending for 6 months now. PP is an option, but what happens if the current H1B in processing gets denied. Will there be an RFE before denial.
Anybody waiting for 6 months for h1B approval.

Again, I want to point somethingout and that is because I myself work in that field - there are people with MS in Computer Science working in core Systems which require their Masters degree knowledge. So, it is not like IT is not included, people with masters in Computer Science is included in STEM.

However, once approved, the PERM will "expire" if no I-140 is filed within 180 days, and eligibility for further one year extensions would end. Similarly, if the employer withdraws the PERM or if it is denied and no appeal is taken further extensions based on that PERM would not be granted.

I opened a service request last week regarding the pending I 485 case. Today I got the following letter in mail. "We are actively processing your case. However we have to perform additional review on this case. Contact us after 6 months." . When I opened a SR last year I got the same response.
I was wondering is this a standard SR reply or is the case really under additional review ? I know my name check got cleared long back ( info pass ). I think additional reviews are done by Department of Homeland Security and probably USCIS put the case on hold until DHS clear the case. Since my case is in limbo for over a year, is there any way to speedup the "additional review" process ?? I am thinking of sending all the "additional review" mails I got along with the case details to senators. Please let me know if anybody got any better ideas.
Yes, sending your case details to your senator would help. I would also take an InfoPass appointment and find out from an IO on what's actually holding up your case since your PD has been current for a while now. Good luck.

Since many are about to file their I 485 petitions, there was some talk about some advantages to filing this petition when the new fee structure goes into effect end of July.
One might be able to wait till mid July to see the August bulletin come out, if PD still current then could file in August with the new fee structure.
Question I had was -

You need experience letter from employer A. Explain to employer A that you are attempting a switch to EB2 for your own career and if it does not work out, you will stick with theim. Telling lies is not a good idea.
