Hey luksy, if you don't want your Wacom that much I will take it off your hands:evil: Ok, so I was kidding (unless you really don't want it).
I don't have one but I want one sooo bad. Drawing with a mouse is such a pain and I don't have a scanner to scan my paper drawn images.

LAMP - Calgary. Also, some financial analysts are predicting that the $CDN will actually be worth *more* than the $US by the end of 2007.
By then, US GC will become easy and everyone will run towards Canada

- If I get a new H1 sponsored (NOT a transfer of existing H1) and join a new company in a totally different job family (New H1 is not an issue because it is from a H1 cap exempt organization)
AND
- Also maintain the current H1 (I will continue part time work here to get minimum wage)
- Will continue my GC process with this co
I know this is possible but I want to know if there are any potential issues here that can jeopardize my current GC process. I am willing to do this only if my current GC process is not hurt in any way.

when you are applying for I140 - You may get RFE due to the fact that your education is not matching (equivalent to) 4 years. So it is better to show the education as 4 years ie..if you have some other degrees/diplomas along with your 3 years degree. this has to be mentioned in box#15.
Hope I am clear.

My Father is applying for Citizenship in Nov 10. If he becomes Citizen then can I file I485 under F3(married sons and daughters of citizen parents). Category and port priority date of May 03 from my employment base I-485 to I-485 under F3?
hi there,
Unfortunately INA (immigration and naturalization act) does not allow to transfer Employment Based priority dates to Family Based immigration. So no, you can not do it.

This is not acceptable. ;)

Hi to all,
I met with a potential client who is an illegal immigrant living in the US. She has a child who is a US citizen. The father was voluntarily deported and the mother gave him permission to take the child back to their home country to visit the grandparents. The father was supposed to make sure the child returned to the US within 3 months. It has been 6 months. If my client files an application under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, will the US Government begin deportation proceedings?
Have you read the 'About Us' section on ImmigrationVoice ? This forum is not for helping illegal immigrants. It is meant for legal immigrants and their issues.

Health care reform has been passed for good or bad only time will tell.
But suffice to say it will give 30 million Americans some kind of coverage to seek medical care meaning more physicians are needed to provide care for these folks.
IV in the past had been working on excluding non-immigrant physicians from the EB category. Now that Health care reform has been passed, has anything been included in it for physicians practicing in rural areas(immigration benefits) ? If not i think we have missed a golden opportunity.

The H-2B program is critically important for many businesses that have difficulty finding U.S. workers to fill temporary jobs. This is particularly true in seasonal industries. Comments from H-2B employers attest to the need for foreign workers in physically demanding seasonal jobs, often in remote locations, that many U.S. workers will not take.
The H-2B nonimmigrant visa (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137785.html) program permits employers to hire foreign workers to come to the U.S. and perform temporary nonagricultural work, which may be one-time, seasonal, peak load or intermittent and there are no qualified and willing U.S. workers available for the job. Note that this visa is not available for "temporary" agencies or other work placement agencies.
In order to learn more about employers perceptions of the H-2B program, ImmigrationWorks USA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey: five short questions distributed among H-2B employers in July and August 2010. The survey asked how many H-2B workers the company had hired in the last three years and what types of jobs those workers held. It included two open-ended questions about the benefits of using the program and asked what if any problems employers had experienced.
Another open-ended question asked what employers would do if they were not able to hire H-2B workers. Participation was voluntary, and results could be submitted via email, fax or the internet. A total of 367 employers responded. The majority of H-2B employers who responded to the survey noted that temporary foreign workers are reliable and hard-working. Many also praised these workers productivity: a benefit that offsets the cost of bringing them into the United States. Respondents appreciated that H-2B workers were willing to work seasonal jobs and then return home when the season ended.
Important benefit of the program is that it offers companies a way to hire foreign workers when U.S. labor markets tighten. The program increases labor market flexibility by allowing businesses to bring in foreign workers when U.S. workers move up to better, higher-paying jobs during economic expansions.

I was wondering if it's possible to add a meter like one used at Wikipedia for fundraising..
http://upload.wikimedia.org/fundraising/2007/people-meter-ltr.png That will be a big motivation to many of the members.

this is a little bit off topic, but does anyway know what are the requirements for practicing immigration law in the US? What kind of formal training and bar exam passing etc are needed?
With the extensive practice that USCIS has provided us, atleast in EB matters I think for most of us it will be a cakewalk. Having gone through the process ourselves we also understand how to treat the immigrant (frequent updates, clear answers, be accessible, provide all options and information) and some of us could make very good immi lawyers (once we get our EADs).

Hi
I have an urgent query. Please help.
I was laid off from my company AA during last week of March-2010. I have not yet singed the lay off letter. And I was rehired by the same AA company on second week of May. I have valid I 94 for next 2 years. But my visa got expired. I was out of payroll for a month. I dont have last 2 payslips.
I have joined the new client through the AA company few days before. My AA compay is asking me to go my Home country and get my Visa stamped and come back. Is there a way that I can continue the employment here without travalling to my Home country at this point ? Are any other better solutions / ways.
Immediate response highly appreciated.
thanks

I plan to use AC21 and apply G28. Any reasonable lawyer recommendation in and around bay area would be of immense help to me.
I tried Payal Singh and she is charging $1200 for AC21 and G28.
I checked with Arjun Verma and the cost is $400 for the same.
Still checking around...

Dallas-Fort Worth Immigration Lawyer Has Just Posted the Following:
“If we are truly going to fix a broken system, Congress will have to act”
The following is a statement from Lynn Tramonte, Deputy Director of America’s Voice:
We have entered a new chapter and a new phase in the immigration debate. Secretary Napolitano today laid out the framework for fixing the broken immigration system, and the solution is comprehensive immigration reform. Drawing on her years of experience on the southwest border, and her new role as the nation’s top homeland security official, she said that we need Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform, and create immigration laws that truly work for our country.
Reform will secure the border, protect all workers, and require undocumented immigrants to register for legal status, pay fines and taxes, clear background checks, and get in line for citizenship. This will benefit all Americans by strengthening the rule of law, bringing in more taxpayers, cutting costs for enforcement, and making our nation’s borders stronger and safer. Now is the time for Congress to take the next step and pass legislation that would accomplish these goals.
As Secretary Napolitano pointed out, the American people support comprehensive immigration reform, and the debate we are about to engage in is not the same old debate. Law enforcement, labor, business, faith, and community leaders are all demanding comprehensive reform for our nation’s security, economy, workers, and families. We have a new President, who was elected because he promised to address important problems like this with practical solutions. We have a new Congress, with leaders who also promised change and progress to the American people.
The Secretary’s speech today was an important moment, but it was just the opening bell. It’s now time for Congress and the Administration to put serious muscle behind advancing the proposal – and it’s time for politicians of all political parties to set aside partisanship and demagoguery, and do what’s right for the country.

Gurus,
My lawyer received Ability to Pay rfe on my I-140. My lawyer is ready with most of the documents
Duration to be covered
2004-2008
My docs ready for the duration:
W2s ( 2004 - 2008)
Tax returns ( 2004 - 2007)
Paystubs ( recent )
Company docs ready:
Tax returns: 2004 - 2007
However for year 2008, company has requested IRS an extension to file tax return.Company is trying to come up with audited financial statement for year 2008. They are still working on it.
However deadline for filing RFE response is this Wednesday ( 03/11/2009)
My questions:
1. Can my lawyer ask for an extension for filing RFE response in this scenario ?
2. Are there any alternatives if my company cannot come up with audited financial statements in this time frame ?
I appreciate your inputs.
You can send the certfied statements along with bank statements along with explaination. But they will not consider that. But you have send for the heck of sending them
